Choosing frames should be a pleasure, not a chore. But it can be hard choosing new frames when faced with so much choice. Our highly skilled dispensing opticians can help you narrow down the choices, suggesting frames that suit both your style and the features of your face and are suitable for your particular prescription.

We like to think of frames as the ultimate accessory, what else alters your look or how you are perceived in an instant? Glasses are immediately apparent as they sit right in the centre of your face. If you love fashion, why stop at shoes and handbags? We love suggesting alternative frames for a particular occasion or activity.

Our frames are sourced from around the globe. We still get enormously excited travelling to Europe, America and the Far East to seek out unusual, colourful and striking frames. We buy from makers who only design spectacle and sun spectacle frames. We do not sell mass produced frames that simply have a famous fashion logo stuck on them. From the uber cool, to the sleek and sophisticated, our frames are all of the highest quality, all made in materials that last, keep their colour and can be adjusted to fit perfectly and comfortably. Our bespoke range. We are proud to offer our own range of frames under the Auerbach & Steele label. This bespoke range is commissioned from small, hand making suppliers in Europe. The range comprises more than fifty shapes in endless colour choices and can even be made in natural buffalo horn along with other materials and shapes as part of our service. The end result is a completely custom pair of frames unique to you.

Sunglasses. As well as making your vision more comfortable in the sun, sunglasses protect your eyes from UV damage. As with our optical frames, we specially select unusual and sought after frames from artisan suppliers who specialise in making frames. Our sunglasses can be made to your prescription and fitted with a wide range of coloured lenses, from mirrored to clear. We can also fit sunglass lenses to almost all of our optical frames, glazing them here on site to ensure they fit that particular frame perfectly.

We ensure your lenses are as discreet and thin as possible. We only use the highest quality lenses from world-renowned manufacturers including Nikon, Hoya, Zeiss and Seiko. We offer a range of specialist coatings to meet your needs, whether it’s for optimal driving vision or screen use. Of course, anti-reflective and scratch resistant coatings come as standard here at Auerbach & Steele.

We stock a fabulous range of accessories in store. These include super stylish chains from La LOOP and Coti Vision. Whilst enormously practical, these contemporary chains make for an elegant piece of statement jewellery, with or without glasses.

We also stock Any Di’s luxurious leather sunglass covers. These beautifully designed covers have achieved cult status. And it’s no wonder why. Made to fit any size of sunglasses, they protect from dust and scratches and can be attached to your handbag or belt.

We also have a range of soft, lightweight cases from French brand, Valrose, which come in a gorgeous range of colours.
